CULVER CITY, CA – If Culver City's Equipment Maintenance and Fleet Services Division was a college football team, it would be looking at an invitation to one of the country's biggest bowl games.
CULVER CITY, CA – If Culver City’s Equipment Maintenance and Fleet Services Division was a college football team, it would be looking at an invitation to one of the country’s biggest bowl games. Against generally much larger operations —Florida State Power & Light, San Diego County, and Cincinnati, for example — the Division in the city’s Transportation Department has moved up from 65th in 2004 to 7th in 2005 and 7th again last year.
Paul Condran, who has been with the department for 21 years, said his division is responsible for more than 600 pieces of city equipment, including the 46 compressed natural gas-powered transit buses, sanitation vehicles, fire apparatus, off road tractors and dozers, police cruisers, tree-trimming trucks, lawn mowers, weed-whackers, and underground fuel storage tanks.
