The Cat 440 and 450 center pivot backhoe loaders provide industry-leading lifting performance, high breakout forces, and improved operating comfort and ergonomics. The 440 boasts a 25% backhoe lifting improvement over the 430F2 and redesigned single tilt loader arms providing parallel lift and versatility in a multitude of applications. The new 450 offers 15% higher backhoe lifting capacity than the 450F and introduces an all-new cab for increased operator comfort.

Lift and tilt breakout forces have significantly increased on both the 440 and 450 to improve machine productivity. A more balanced weight design and longer backhoe stabilizer legs improve operating stability.

The powertrains for both models are anchored by the Cat C4.4 ACERT engine that meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards using a service-free SCR solution. The standard Autoshift transmission features a sixth gear for improved roading performance, and optional Lock Up Torque converter for improved torque and efficiency on grades. New spring-applied hydraulically released (SAHR) brakes provide simplified operation of the parking brake.

The 440 delivers 109 net hp while the 450 delivers 128 net hp.
