BendPak Introduces Eight-Arm Lift for Fleet Maintenance Shops
A new two-post lift combines traditional vehicle lifting with a separate system for handling heavy components. The design could help public fleet technicians complete complex repairs in a single service bay while reducing the need for additional lifting equipment.

Its Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System provides 10 times the holding power of traditional swing-arm restraints, while the magnetic pendant controller lets technicians operate the lift from a position away from the columns.
BendPak
BendPak has introduced the OctaFlex 12DPS, an eight-arm, two-post lift designed to support cab-off repairs, electric vehicle battery removal, and other maintenance tasks involving heavy vehicle components.
The lift combines a 12,000-lb. capacity two-post vehicle lift with an integrated 6,000-lb. capacity lift-assist system.
Four primary arms support the vehicle, while four secondary arms can independently raise, lower, or hold components such as truck cabs, drivetrains, EV batteries, and suspension assemblies.
When the secondary arms are not needed, they can be moved out of the way, allowing the equipment to function as a conventional two-post lift.
Supporting Multiple Repairs in One Bay
The OctaFlex design allows technicians to separate a truck cab from its chassis while keeping both supported by the same lift.
With the cab raised, technicians can access the chassis to perform additional maintenance, including brake, suspension, and oil service, without waiting to reinstall the cab. According to BendPak, shops can save an average of two hours per cab-off operation using the system. Actual time savings will depend on the repair type and shop workflow.
The integrated lift-assist system can also reduce the need for separate lifting tables, additional service bays, or a second technician when handling heavy components.
Improving Component Positioning and Technician Access
The OctaFlex 12DPS includes a magnetic pendant controller that allows technicians to operate the primary and secondary lifting arms independently. Each set of arms can be raised or lowered at normal or reduced speed, allowing for more controlled positioning during tasks such as EV battery installation or cab reassembly.
The system keeps separated vehicle components aligned throughout the repair process, reducing the need to reposition heavy components manually. BendPak also incorporated its Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System (ASARS), which provides a 360-degree grip to secure the primary lifting arms.
The Automotive Lift Institute has third-party tested and certified the OctaFlex 12DPS under model EV12DPS.
Availability
The OctaFlex 12DPS is now shipping.
BendPak first introduced the OctaFlex concept in 2024 and spent the following two years refining the design through customer feedback and testing.
The company will display the lift at the 2026 SEMA Show, scheduled for November 3–6.
