John Deere has updated its Z700 ZTrak Mid-Duty Commercial Mower lineup, introducing changes to the engines, transmissions, mower decks, and operator stations.

The refreshed lineup consists of four zero-turn models: the Z720M, Z740M, Z740R, and Z760R. The M- and R-Series machines are designed for maintaining large properties and commercial mowing applications.

Updates to Mowing Equipment

All four models are equipped with John Deere's 7-Iron PRO mower deck, a design also used on the company's Z900 commercial mower lineup.

The deck uses a 7-gauge shell, reinforced trim edge and discharge chute, cast aluminum spindle design, and revised anti-scalp wheel placement.

The Z700 lineup also uses Kawasaki FX engines paired with upgraded Hydro-Gear transmissions.

M-Series mowers have a maximum ground speed of 9.5 mph, while R-Series models can reach up to 10 mph.

M- and R-Series Options

John Deere is positioning the two series for different levels of use. The M-Series is aimed at large-property maintenance, while the R-Series adds features intended for more frequent commercial applications.

R-Series models also receive expanded warranty coverage of four years or 1,200 hours.

The updated Z700 ZTrak models are scheduled to become available through John Deere dealers beginning in October 2026.
