BendPak's current lineup of Ranger tire changers and wheel balancers has received ETL certification to applicable UL and CSA safety standards in the United States and Canada.

The certification follows an 18-month project by BendPak to redesign and update components across its Ranger wheel service equipment. The project included changes to electrical architecture, structural components, and mechanical and pneumatic systems.

Operator safety was one area of focus during the redesign. Potential hazards associated with routine tire and wheel service, including pinch points, moving components, electrical and fire hazards, and pressurized systems, were evaluated during the process.

According to BendPak, components that did not meet certification criteria were redesigned or replaced, systems were reconfigured, and additional safeguards were incorporated. The modified equipment then underwent testing before receiving certification.

The certified Ranger equipment includes:

• LS45DS Laser-Spot sonar wheel balancer
• RB30T heavy-duty truck and passenger car wheel balancer
• DST2420X passenger car wheel balancer
• R745 swing-arm tire changer
• R980XR swing-arm tire changer
• R76ATR single-tower tilt-back tire changer
• R980DP dual-assist swing-arm tire changer
• R80EX dual-tower tilt-back tire changer
• R26FLT heavy-duty truck tire changer

The lineup includes equipment designed for passenger vehicles as well as heavy-duty truck applications. Certified models can be identified by the ETL mark displayed on the product label.
