NEXA announced the availability of the Sonim XP5plus 5G, a fourth-generation rugged device designed for mission-critical communications. The device is available for enterprise customers on AT&T’s 5G network and for public safety users on FirstNet, a network built for first responders.
The XP5plus 5G is designed for use across enterprise, public safety, government and military applications, offering rugged durability, 5G connectivity and interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR) systems.
Communication and Interoperability
The XP5plus 5G combines cellular and radio functionality in a single device, enabling users to communicate through push-to-talk, voice calls, and messaging, including SMS, MMS and media sharing. It is designed to interoperate with existing LMR systems, reducing the need for separate radio infrastructure.
The device supports AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk, FirstNet Rapid Response and FirstNet Mission-Critical Push-to-Talk through FirstNet Fusion, allowing communication across LTE, 5G and Wi-Fi networks.

The XP5plus 5G is built to meet Sonim Rugged Performance Standards, including IP68, IPx9K and MIL-STD-810H ratings for resistance to water, dust, drops and extreme temperatures.
