WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) kicked off the 7th Annual National Motor Vehicle.
WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) kicked off the 7th Annual National Motor Vehicle and Aviation Exposition and Workshops in Orlando, Florida, July 24-26. Administrator Lurita Doan delivered remarks at the opening session to Federal fleet and aviation professionals.
“GSA plays several roles when it comes to the fleet: we help develop governmentwide policy; we buy, sell, and lease vehicles, and we have our own GSA fleet,” Doan said. “We are committed to providing world-class fleet services at the lowest possible cost. This is a formula that will yield major dividends for our customers, our citizens and our environment.”
FedFleet 2007, expected to draw 1,300 attendees, is comprised of the Federal Fleet Manager Workshop and Information Fair and the Aviation Safety Officer Workshop. The mission of the FedFleet Workshop is to provide a forum for federal fleet and aviation professionals from all agencies at all levels to discuss regulatory and legislative issues, to explore new technological advances, to provide fleet-specific training and to provide an atmosphere for interaction to discuss common problems and best practices. Additionally, FedFleet 2007 emphasizes performance measurement and navigating success.
Conference training sessions focused on: “Measuring Your Fleet’s Performance”; “OMB’s Perspective on Planning, Budgeting, and Performance in Federal Fleet Management”; “EPACT and E.O. 13149 and 13423 — Lessons Learned and Moving Forward”; and, Overcoming Alternative-Fuel Infrastructure Barriers."
Additional sessions addressed:
Where the management and operation of the federal fleet is headed.
How to enact the beneficial changes needed in federal fleet management.
Trends, technological advances, and best practices.
Ways to decrease costs and increase productivity.
How to make fleet operation and management as efficient and cost effective as possible.
