General Motors and Lytx, formerly DriveCam, have signed on to sponsor Government Fleet’s Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year award. The annual award, now in its tenth year, recognizes excellence in fleet management.
Nominations for this award will open Feb. 10. Qualified nominees will be asked to complete an essay questionnaire that judges will use to rank candidates.
Candidates are judged on the following criteria: business plan, technology implementation, productivity, policies, preventive maintenance program, utilization management, replacement program, customer service, fuel management, and safety. A peer group of working public-sector fleet managers from around the country judges the award.
The winner will be announced at the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), which takes place June 2-4 in San Diego. The winner and finalists will be featured in Government Fleet magazine. Richard Battersby, CAFM, CPFP, director of fleet services for the University of California, Davis, was named the 2013 Fleet Manager of the Year.
