Fleetio announced at Work Truck Week the open beta launch of Service Advisor, an AI-based tool designed to help fleet managers review and approve repairs more efficiently.
The company said early results show assets spending 16% fewer hours in the shop when Service Advisor is used to guide repair decisions.
Repair Approvals and Maintenance Workflow
Fleetio said fleet operations continue to face rising costs, with its 2026 benchmark report identifying cost escalation as a top concern for fleet managers.
Service Advisor is intended to support more consistent repair decisions and help reduce unnecessary maintenance spending while returning vehicles to service more quickly.
The tool evaluates repair orders, assigns issue priorities and provides guidance within Fleetio’s Maintenance Shop Network.
Key capabilities include:
- Repair order assessments to support consistent approval decisions
- Issue prioritization to help address urgent repairs and reduce backlogs
- Service history summaries to provide a clear overview of completed work and approvals
Fleetio said these features are designed to help fleets manage high volumes of repair approvals and maintain consistent standards across teams.
Expanded Automation Tools
Service Advisor is part of Fleetio’s broader effort to automate maintenance workflows.
The company recently introduced Smart Uploads, which uses AI to convert service invoices and receipts into structured maintenance data.
Kristen Arnecke, fleet administrator at Race Communications, said the tool reduces manual data entry and saves several hours per week when processing invoices.
AI-Supported Decision-Making
Fleetio said Service Advisor is designed to support human decision-making by providing context and standardizing workflows across assets, shops and locations.
“We built Service Advisor to support fleet teams as operations scale,” said Jorge Valdivia, chief technology officer at Fleetio. “The goal is to provide better context, apply standards consistently and reduce manual coordination.”
Service Advisor is available to current Fleetio customers through an open beta, which can be activated within platform settings.
