More than 30 municipalities, counties and school districts selected or continued with American Traffic Solutions (ATS) as their partner to improve traffic safety at intersections, along speed corridors, bus lanes and around stopped school buses in the first three months of 2014.

In all, ATS State and Local Government Solutions (SLGS) signed new contracts, and renewed, extended or enacted agreements, adding up to more than 700 red-light, speed, bus lane and school bus stop arm safety cameras in 12 states.

Additionally, ATS Fleet Services' Toll and Violation management solutions continue to grow as more Fleets and fleet management companies selected ATS as their partner for helping solve their toll and violation management challenges.

The new SLGS contracts are split between existing customers and new clients, and provide for both red-light, speed, bus lane and school bus safety cameras. Osceola County and Lauderdale Lakes, in Florida, as well as Georgetown Independent School District in Texas represent the local governments implementing ATS programs for the first time. Longtime clients who agreed to new contracts include New York City; Mesa, Ariz.; Creve Coeur, Mo.; and Commerce City, Colo.; and Athens-Clarke County, Ga.

Lufkin, Texas, and Miami Gardens, Fla., extended their programs for five years. Other locations that renewed or extended their agreements include: Davis, Calif.; Boulder, Colo.; Surfside, Fla.; St. John and Florissant, Mo.; Wilmington, NC..; Linden, N.J.; Knoxville and Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Irving, Texas; Roswell and Gwinnett County, Ga. In Maryland, Charles County, Greenbelt, Howard County, Landover Hills, Morningside, Prince George's County and Westminster continued their partnership with ATS. Additionally, Cheverly, Md. contracted to implement ATS' school zone safety solution.
