Tracker Innovation From Queclink to Boost Stolen Vehicle Recovery Performance

Queclink has introduced a backup telematics device designed to support stolen vehicle recovery by activating only when a primary tracker is disabled, helping fleets and financing providers respond more quickly to theft.

Queclink Wireless Solutions has introduced a new backup tracking device designed to support stolen vehicle recovery efforts as vehicle theft methods become more sophisticated.

The GL51CG is a battery-powered telematics unit intended to serve as a concealed secondary tracker that activates if a primary, wired device is disabled. The approach is aimed at improving recovery rates in high-risk environments where visible tracking hardware is often targeted and removed.

Backup Tracking for Vehicle Recovery

The GL51CG is designed to remain dormant until it detects signal loss from a primary telematics unit, at which point it begins reporting real-time location data. The compact device measures 58 x 57 x 26 mm and offers standby battery life of up to six years. Communication between the primary and backup units is handled through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.4).

“Single-tracker solutions are easier to defeat,” said Marcelo Orsi, LATAM sales director at Queclink Wireless Solutions. “We’re focused on technology that provides continuous tracking and faster notification to improve recovery outcomes.”

Queclink said the GL51CG is its first LTE Cat 1 long-standby tracker and will be integrated into its stolen vehicle recovery solution. The company noted that multilayer protection strategies may also include driver identification, immobilization, and event monitoring to enhance vehicle security and response times.
