Virginia Fleet Management Hosts EV Ride and Drive
The event is part of Alexandria's sustainability mission and to help staff better understand what alternative vehicles are available for the fleet.

The Office of Fleet Management for the city Of Alexandria, Virginia, hosted an electric vehicle (EV)
ride and drive event on December 2, 2022. The event was attended by area municipalities as well as city staff from Alexandria.
Fleet Acquisitions Manager Ken Lett coordinated with area vendors to bring in participation for the event.

“We are pleased to be able to bring this to the area and host the event so that staff can see
what is available for us," Lett said.
On hand to drive was the Ford Mach-E Mustang, the Ford F150 Lighting, a Mack Electric Refuse Truck, a Ford ETransit, and a Cenntro All Electric Truck Chassis that can be fitted for an enclosed cargo van or stack body truck.

As part of its commitment to build sustainability, the Alexandria Fleet Management Division has also been test-driving a Mack Electric Refuse truck. The Fleet Management Division is exploring ways to incorporate “green practices” aligned with the city’s goals to become more sustainable.
