Caterpillar announced the addition of the M315F and M317F compact radius wheeled excavators to its Cat F Series wheeled excavator range.
The new excavator models feature wide steering angles and optimum turning radii to facilitate maneuvering. Joystick steering and undercarriage and stick length options are also available.
The M315F and M317F have medium and high pressure auxiliary hydraulic lines, and a monitor-based tool control system. Operators can use the tool control interface to program up to 10 different flow and pressure settings. Auxiliary functions are assigned on the joystick and foot pedal, allowing the operator to choose which button or slider is preferred for a specific work tool.
An optional Tilt-Rotator-Ready package is available with a factory-installed, on-board platform for a Rototilt tiltrotator, providing greater versability and maneuverability.
The new excavator models feature a load-sensing hydraulic system for fast cycles, increased lift capacity, and high bucket and stick forces. Dedicated pumps for swing and implement functions allow for faster, smoother movement, while the hydraulic system reduces the load on the engine, resulting in lower fuel consumption.
Both models sport 150 hp Cat C4.4 ACERT engines with the Cat NOx-reduction system, selective catalytic reduction system, diesel oxidation catalyst, "fit for life" diesel particulate filter, and high-pressure/common-rail fuel system. Both excavators meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.
Cat LINK technologies wirelessly provide information such as location, hours, fuel usage, idle time and event codes. Product Link data is accessed via the online VisionLink interface.
