Terex is recalling 73 2011-2015 model-year SCM48, SCM50 and SCM55 aerial devices because of a problem tied to their leveling systems, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The recalled aerial devices were manufactured from Aug. 24 to Nov. 5 in 2015. They have a leveling cylinder linkage that can be forced past its intended stop position, causing damage to the leveling system, according to NHTSA.
“If the leveling system fails, the aerial platform may tilt, increasing the risk of injury to the user or those nearby,” NHTSA said on its website. Terex dealers will install a stop to prevent excessive cylinder linkage movement.
There will be no charge for the repair. The recall is expected to begin this month.
