Rick Longobart, facilities, fleet, and central stores manager for the City of Santa Ana, Calif., retired on May 1. He has been at the City of Santa Ana since 2010.
Longobart has been involved in the fleet industry for 32 years, previously working at the City of El Segundo and the City of Inglewood in California.

Longobart led the City of Santa Ana fleet to become one of the Leading Fleets, winning third Best Fleet overall and the No. 1 Mid-Size Fleet in the country in 2014. The fleet was also placed ninth on the 100 Best and was named Greenest Fleet in the Nation in 2014.
Longobart has been a member of the Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association (MEMA) for 29 years and served as its president for 10 years. He is chair of the NAFA Pacific Southwest Chapter and belongs to various other associations.
Longobart co-founded Longobart-Ross Consulting with Cynthia Ross, combining Longobart’s fleet operations background with Ross’s ability to develop strategies that secure new clients. They will assist public and private fleet departments in learning and utilizing best fleet management practices and technologies.
