The Government Solutions Team's and Government Fleet's next Public Fleet Summit will take place in Austin, Texas, Nov. 20-21, focusing on leadership. Public Fleet Summits are regional education and networking events that will take place around the country. The summits address the need for high-quality professional fleet and facilities training while recognizing that budget restrictions are making travel difficult for many. The inaugural Public Fleet Summit took place in the Northwest, and the second PFS took place in Minneapolis.

Scott Minnix, the city of Houston's general services director, will present a keynote address about leadership in public service. Other speakers include respected fleet managers and industry suppliers, covering topics such as parts management, Lean/Six Sigma methods, best practices, calculating return on investment for projects, insourcing, and ethics. Additionally, NJPA will host a discussion about cooperative purchasing options, and sponsors will hold another session on emerging technologies in the industry.

The summit will take place at the Holiday Inn Austin NW, Arboretum Area. Special room rates are available for attendees. To register, or for more information about the event and speakers, visit the GST website.
