A municipality in Washington has purchased two Workhorse W4 CC electric work trucks equipped with 16-foot Summit dry van bodies to support its fleet operations.

The trucks, procured through Sourcewell—a cooperative purchasing organization that simplifies procurement for government agencies—will be used for trash and recycling can switch-outs. This acquisition aligns with the city’s efforts to enhance operational efficiency while reducing emissions.

Breaking into the Pacific Northwest with a Municipal Sale

The purchase was facilitated by The Truck Shop, a Workhorse certified dealer with locations in Washington and Oregon.

As an awarded contract supplier since 2024, Workhorse provides public sector organizations with access to medium-duty electric work trucks, supporting the transition to more sustainable fleet operations. This sale also marks Workhorse’s first delivery in the Pacific Northwest, a region increasingly focused on fleet electrification.

Meeting Goals Through Electrification

By integrating electric vehicles into its fleet, the municipality aims to lower emissions, reduce noise pollution, and decrease reliance on fossil fuels, contributing to its broader environmental goals. The Workhorse W4 CC, a 100% electric Class 4 cab chassis, offers a zero-tailpipe-emission solution designed to support the evolving needs of municipal and vocational fleets.
