Cobb County, Georgia, is set to begin its demo program with a P7-C demo chassis cab manufactured by REE Automotive Ltd., an automotive technology company and provider of full by-wire electric trucks and platforms.

This demonstration of the P7-C’s features and capabilities is being held through Pritchard EV.

As part of the demonstration, Cobb County plans to hold an Electrification Showcase for the local chapter of NAFA Fleet Management Association to increase exposure to the unit among industry experts. That event will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. EST at the Cobb County Fleet Management and Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, 1825 County Services Pkwy, Marietta, GA 30008.

Making Strides in Electrification Adoption

“Cobb County has added more than 65 electric vehicles, 150 hybrid police vehicles, 24 bi-fuel vehicles, the first electric prisoner transport van, so the REE P7-C chassis cab will be another innovative move for Cobb County,” said Al Curtis, Cobb County fleet manager and member of the Fleet Managers Hall of Fame. “Cobb will continue to take the road less traveled by demoing vehicles with new technology to diversify the vehicle and equipment landscape.”

The demonstration chassis cab came off the production line in December and arrived in the United States in February. It has been upfit with a KUV service body through Knapheide, one of Pritchard EV’s upfit partners, and is now being demonstrated to leading national fleets. Cobb County, Georgia, will test the chassis cab’s capabilities addressing the unique needs of the municipal fleet space.

“This demonstration, in partnership with a leading player such as Pritchard EV, is a significant step forward as we look to grow our order book and give fleets real-world experience with our vehicles," said Tali Miller, chief business officer of REE Automotive. REE completed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) certification of the full by-wire P7-C in January with Pritchard and REE announcing their partnership in 2023.
