Pierce Manufacturing is recalling 910 2006-2007 model-year Arrow XT, Dash, Enforcer, Lance, and Quantum fire truck chassis manufactured from Jan. 1, 2006, to March 31, 2007, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
In these vehicles, tears in the ball joint protective boots may result in contamination of the ball joints. Such contamination may lead to premature ball joint failure, and the wheel may disengage from the control arm. These conditions increase the risk of a vehicle crash, NHTSA said.
