Parker Hannifin Corporation, a motion and control technologies company, announced that its Parker RunWise Advanced Series Hybrid Drive System qualifies as a fuel replacement option under the Texas Clean Fleet Program for Texas municipal fleets.

The Texas Clean Fleet Program, part of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan, provides incentives, such as grants awarding 80 percent of the cost of purchasing an alternative fuel or hybrid vehicle, to owners of large fleets to replace diesel-powered vehicles. The RunWise technology complies with requirements of the Texas’ program by reducing vehicle emissions of up to 50 percent. Fourteen Parker RunWise hybrid drive systems are in use in the state.

“RunWise’s compliance exemplifies how this innovative technology reduces emissions and saves money for municipalities across the U.S.,” said Shane Terblanche, general manager, Hybrid Drive Systems at Parker Hannifin. “Austin, College Station, Houston, and New Braunfels are Texas cities currently benefiting from fuel savings and emissions reductions. We look forward to providing the same benefits to other Texas cities under its Clean Fleet Program.”

Parker Hannifin is working in partnership with Autocar LLC and Big Truck Rental. The Autocar E3 equipped with RunWise technology is available through Big Truck Rental to all municipalities and waste management companies on a rent-to-own basis. With a million miles of operation and 99 percent uptime, Parker RunWise has consistently proven effective in reducing fuel consumption and emissions. This has generated numerous repeat orders, and praise from drivers who appreciate the system’s responsiveness and reduced noise.
