ROCHESTER, MN – The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office recently added two new squad cars to its fleet, courtesy of drunken driving arrests, according to KTTC.
At least 20 vehicles have been seized and maintained. Vehicles are seized by law enforcement in accordance with a three-strike rule that applies to DWI arrests.
The county is obligated to hold onto seized vehicles, as there is a chance they may be returned to their owners, reported KTTC.
It cost approximately $2,500 to upgrade the newest law enforcement transports, reported KTTC.
