A City of Toledo, Ohio, fleet employee has resigned after an administrative hearing for crashing a city-owned Jeep twice and leaving the scene of an accident.

A City of Toledo, Ohio, fleet employee has resigned after an administrative hearing for crashing a city-owned Jeep twice and leaving the scene of an accident, the Toledo Blade reported. The city spokeswoman said Mike Bombrys resigned for personal reasons.
The police report stated Bombrys was driving a fleet car when he struck a vehicle with seven passengers, then crashed into a fence before driving away. He was suspended without pay the following day.
The city’s Human Resources Department confirmed that Bombrys’ title was administrator-public services 1, and he worked on the fleet side of the city’s Fleet & Facilities Division. In 2015, he and the fleet and facilities commissioner were suspended with pay for purchasing unauthorized exercise equipment for the division.
