Ohio City Fleet Opens Doors to Cub Scouts
The City of Dublin, Ohio, recently opened its doors to a local Cub Scouts group, providing seven second-graders a tour of its Fleet Management department.

The City of Dublin, Ohio, recently opened its doors to a local Cub Scout pack, providing seven second-graders a tour of its Fleet Management department.
The group met a badge requirement by learning about government service. Employees took them on a tour of the Service Center, where they learned about daily operations, before providing a tour of the Fleet Management facility. Fleet Administrator John Hyatt along with fleet staff and representatives from Dublin Police and Washington Township Fire Department talked to the scouts about a typical day at work.
Fleet Manager Daryl Syler said the boys were most interested in learning what the K-9 officer did, and looking through his police car.
Other public outreach projects the city is working on include using social median hosting a “Touch a Truck” event each fall. In addition, the city will starts its very first Citizens Academy in April, which includes educating participants about the vehicles and equipment used in the community and why the city is advocating for a green fleet, Syler said.
