As the popularity of electric vehicles surges in the public and within government, education, and nonprofit organizations, so does the need for charging stations, software, and related services.

To help its public-serving members throughout the U.S., and Canada find viable solutions, National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) did extensive research and conducted a nationwide competitive solicitation in the category of, “Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment and Related Services.”

NJPA has awarded five vendors in its newest category: AeroVironment, ChargePoint Inc, Greenlots, LilyPad EV, and Siemens Industry. Through these awarded vendors, members can find everything they need to provide charging solutions for any size project or program, from just one vehicle to public parking spaces and ramps, up to a full fleet of vehicles.

Contract Administrator Scott Carr says NJPA received an abundance of input from several members to understand what needs exist within the electric vehicle space.

“The EVSE industry is evolving very quickly with many complexities to understand,” Carr explained. “What we wanted to accomplish with this contract solicitation was to provide our members a variety of simplified charging solutions that make sense for them. Now, our members have the ability to pair our electric vehicle contracts with our charging infrastructure contracts for a turnkey solution.”

The contracts, which will streamline the purchase and service acquisition process, were effective as of July 25.
