LANSING, MI – Michigan’s Governor Rick Snyder (R) on June 26 signed the FY-2013 budget, which prioritizes the use of remanufactured parts in the State fleet up through Sept. 30, 2013.
Part 5 of section 831 (page 120 of the budget) states: “In order to reduce costs and maintain quality, it is the intent of the legislature that, excluding the fleet of motor vehicles for the department of state police, when economically feasible, the department of technology, management, and budget will prioritize the utilization of remanufactured parts as the primary means of maintenance and repair for the state of Michigan’s fleet of motor vehicles.”
