Kawasaki Recalls 57 More Concours 14 Police Motorcycles
Kawasaki announced a recall of 57 model-year 2012-2013 Concours 14 police motorcycles to fix their electrical components. Police accessories installed on the motorcycle may cause the 30-amp main fuse to blow.
Kawasaki announced a recall of 57 model-year 2012-2013 Concours 14 police motorcycles to fix their electrical components. Police accessories installed on the motorcycle may cause the 30-amp main fuse to blow. Also, additional police wiring harness may chafe, leading to a short, which may blow the main fuse, according to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). A blown fuse may cause the engine to stall.
Kawasaki will notify owners, and dealers will correct the electrical problem free of charge. Kawasaki will send notification letters to law enforcement agency purchasers on Sept. 9. The company will send letters to dealers on Sept. 5. Owners may contact Kawasaki at 866-802-9381.
In March 2012, the company recalled 268 model-year 2009-2012 Concours 14 police motorcycles for the same issue. Kawasaki suspended its Concours 14P police motorcycle program as a result of this recall.
