ATLANTA- Gwinnett County Commission recently passed a measure authorizing $3.1 million for new vehicles in emergency departments, according to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
The expenditure will go to the purchase of new vehicles for current officers and to accommodate expansion in the police department. Police will get 108 pursuit vehicles, and the Sheriff's Office will get eight, according to Michael Lindsey, county fleet service manager, reported the AJC. A fully equipped police vehicle costs about $25,000, he said.
