Government Fleet has announced three finalists for the 2015 Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year award. Judges chose the finalists from a group of 11 qualified nominees as scoring the highest in 10 categories: business plan, technology implementation, productivity, policies, preventive maintenance program, utilization management, replacement program, customer service, fuel management, and safety.
The judging panel is made up of working public sector fleet managers from a variety of fleets.

The finalists are:
Michael Brennan, CEM, fleet services division manager, Manatee County, Fla.
Bill Griffiths, division chief, Fleet Management Services, Montgomery County, Md.
Kelly Reagan, fleet administrator, City of Columbus, Ohio
Brennan has remained focused in 2014 on the construction of a new state-of-the-art maintenance facility, completion of a fully automated bulk oil monitoring system, expanding deployment of the wireless fuel management system by 150 units, and replacing an aged security system at the central facility.
Using data, Griffiths led the development and execution of the county’s fleet replacement program, overcoming a six-year, 1,000+ vehicle replacement backlog.
Challenged to develop a fleet goal that would benefit the City of Columbus by reducing carbon emissions while saving money, Reagan developed the “Million Gallon Challenge.” This metric is gradually removing a million gallons of petroleum fuel from the city’s budget while realizing $2 million a year in fuel savings.
