Fla. City Investing $3.9M on Fleet Upgrade
The City of Boynton Beach (Fla.) will invest $3.9 million from its replacement reserve fund to buy 56 vehicles for its police, fire and solid waste departments.
The City of Boynton Beach (Fla.) will invest $3.9 million from its replacement reserve fund to buy 56 vehicles for its police, fire and solid waste departments, reports the Palm Beach Post.
City commissioners approved the purchases earlier this month, so the city can replace aging fleet vehicles. New police vehicles include 16 2016 Ford Police Interceptor sedans, 11 2016 Ford Fusion sedans, two 2016 Ford Focus cars, one 2016 motorcycle, and one 2016 Ford T-350 Transit wagon.
The funding will come from the city's fleet fund that now has $5.5 million available for replacement vehicles.
