Rawlings
Marilyn Rawlings, fleet manager for the City of Cape Coral, Fla., has announced she will be retiring. Her last day is May 1.
At the city, Rawlings oversaw 1,672 vehicles and pieces and equipment. The city fleet recently obtained the Blue Seal of Excellence from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and last year successfully took in its first insourcing project — providing maintenance and repair work for a charter school.
Prior to Cape Coral, she served as fleet manager for Lee County, Fla. In 2015, Rawlings was inducted into Government Fleet's Public Fleet Hall of Fame.
Rawlings’ proudest accomplishment is watching staff members grow.
“I have worked with some of the most talented people who just needed to be encouraged to climb to the top of the mountain! They made me a better leader,” she said.

Forbes
Rawlings plans to spend her retirement at her family cabin in North Carolina, riding motorcycles, and with her grandkids.
Cape Coral has hired a new fleet manager to replace Rawlings. AJ Forbes was a vehicle management section chief for the Air Force, responsible for 131 military personnel and civilians who provided vehicles and equipment to 28 vehicle-using organizations. He was also responsible for managing and maintaining 1,117 vehicles and equipment valued at more than $117 million.
