Jeff Booton, director of fleet management for the Denver International Airport, has been promoted to senior director of maintenance for Airport Infrastructure and Maintenance. In his new role, which began April 9, he oversees fleet maintenance, field maintenance, high-tech maintenance, and facilities maintenance.
Booton has worked at the Denver International Airport as its fleet director since 2012, leading a workforce of 74 technicians in the management and maintenance of 1,700 assets. Under his leadership, the Fleet Department has been recognized with numerous awards for performance and sustainability. His team has reduced preventive maintenance labor hours on light-duty vehicles by 55% and reduced snow equipment downtime by 5% while saving $125,000 in overtime costs to the airport annually.
Prior to joining the airport, he served almost 27 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, managing fleet maintenance operations across the globe.
Booton was named a finalist for the 2018 Public Sector Fleet Manger of the Year. The winner will be announced in June at the Government Fleet Expo & Conference.
