Edwards
Scott Edwards, CAFM, was named the State of Colorado fleet manager in February. He oversees the state’s 6,100 light- and medium-duty vehicles.
Edwards brings more than two decades of active fleet management and maintenance experience. He most recently held the position as the interim assistant director of transportation for the University of Colorado and prior to that was the long-time fleet manager for the university.
During his tenure with the university, Edwards coordinated the processes to convert the internal transit system to successfully utilize biodiesel, becoming one of the first in the country to do so. This enabled the university to reduce petroleum consumption by 500,000 gallons over the past decade. The transportation budget totaled $4 million annually, with a variable pool of operators of more than 10,000.
Edwards has held multiple positions on the Rocky Mountain chapter of the NAFA Fleet Management Association, including chapter chair, and he has participated in strategic planning at a national level for the organization as part of their Board of Governors.
