April marks the third month where this year's government vehicles sales were higher than those in 2025.
Government Fleet
Last year, government vehicles sales saw a majority of months where monthly vehicle sales were below those of the previous year. However, as of last month, that trend seems to be changing.
January, March, and now April have seen higher monthly vehicle sales than those in 2025. But while January and March numbers saw only minor jumps, 5% and .6% respectively, April had the biggest differential from the previous year with 23,819 vehicles sold compared to 19,385 in April 2025, almost of 23% increase (Four of the seven major Asian-based automakers did not provide any government fleet numbers for April).
Where the Numbers Find Weight
While car sales saw a decrease last month with only 28 vehicles reported sold compared to the 111 last year, it was truck and SUV sales that brought the significant increase.
There were a reported 19,274 truckss and SUVs sold last year and 23,791 sold in April of this year, a 23.4% increase.
Year-to-date, there have been 79,350 total government vehicle sales, a 5% increase from last year's 75,557 vehicles.
