GREENVILLE, MS — Former Greenville city department head Terry Robertson was sentenced to two years of house arrest and was ordered to pay back the city more than $18,000 after being convicted of embezzling city funds, according to the Delta Democrat Times. Robertson, former fleet manager for the city of Greenville, was arrested May 4 by the Greenville Police Department and charged with felony embezzlement, according to the Delta Democrat Times. Robertson recently pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement in Washington County Circuit Court. The 52-year-old Robertson had worked for the city for at least 13 years. Robertson’s arrest was the result of a month-long investigation. Mayor Heather McTeer Hudson said the city received information about possible mishandling of city property and funds, according to the Delta Democrat Times. Robertson was terminated from his position before his arrest. Robertson, who was out on bond, was sentenced to serve four years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections with two of those years suspended and two years of house arrest, according to the Delta Democrat Times.
