Calif. Energy Program Hires Fleet Manager to Lead Vehicle Electrification Efforts
Phillip Kobernick, logistics services manager for the Alameda County, Calif., General Services Agency, is stepping down from his role. His last day is June 19.

Phillip Kobernick, logistics services manager for the Alameda County, Calif., General Services Agency, is stepping down from his role. His last day is June 19.
He started at the county as a sustainability specialist in 2012, developing the green fleet program and the Clean Commute program. He became logistics services manager in 2018, overseeing fleet, parking, property and salvage, and the messenger unit.
While at the county, Kobernick led a regional collaborative procurement for 90 electric vehicles (EVs) for multiple municipalities, grew the county’s electric vehicle fleet to 90 EVs and 151 charging ports, and began smart energy management with the EV fleet. He is also a member of Government Fleet magazine's advisory board.
Kobernick is moving on to be the clean energy programs manager for Peninsula Clean Energy, a public, locally controlled electricity provider. He will be developing programs and strategies to shift electric vehicle adoption among fleets, businesses, and residents in San Mateo County.
Alameda County is currently recruiting for Kobernick’s replacement.
