PRATTVILLE, AL - New computers in Autauga County Sheriff's Office patrol cars will enable officers to complete reports in the field and spend more time on the road, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.
A federal COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) grant is funding the purchase of about $30,000 worth of computers, enough to outfit half the patrol cars in the fleet. The department is working on getting another grant for computers for the rest of the fleet, Sheriff Herbie Johnson told the Advertiser.
