The Mohawk Model TP-20 two-post lift can lift everything from a Toyota Prius to a dump truck weighing up to 20,000 lbs., providing government fleet maintenance shops greater versatility for servicing a wide range of vehicles.
The TP-20 occupies less shop space than four-post lifts or parallelograms, provides more under-vehicle access, and offers wheels-free service, according to Mohawk Lifts.

Free from Vehicle Height Restrictions
“With the combination of options like three stage arms, the ability to lift large pickups is even easier,” explained Steve Perlstein, sales and marketing manager for Mohawk Lifts. “The TP-20 can be installed with overhead stainless-steel hydraulic lines, or the lines can be installed in-ground.”
This means that tall trucks or ambulances can be serviced without height restrictions. The TP-20 only needs 6 ½ inches of concrete to bolt to the shop floor, Perlstein said.
TP-20 options include a weight gauge, which indicates how much the vehicle weighs and whether it has been lowered onto the lift’s mechanical locks. If the gauge reads zero, then the technician has correctly lowered the vehicle onto the locks.
Another available option is the scissor lifting table, which handles powertrain components such as engines and transmissions. It also serves as a worktable where components can be lowered to a convenient work height for repairs.
Additional Options Expand Flexibility
Other two-post accessories include the dual-trough turf adaptor, Speedlane, and wheel engaging adaptors. The dual-trough turf adaptor can be attached to a two-post frame-engaging lift so it can be used as a turf maintenance lift for zero turn mowers, turf equipment, and four wheelers. Instead of buying a custom lift only for turf equipment, fleets can rely on the adaptor and service all types of vehicles in one location and on one lift.

The Speedlane option attaches to a two-post lift, converting it from a frame-engaging lift to a drive-on pad lift. This eliminates the time it takes to position the swing arms. Instead, the vehicle can be driven directly onto the Speedlane and then raised to begin work.
Even with the accessory on, technicians have full working access to the underside of the car. Additionally, wheel-engaging adaptors provide the ability to have one vehicle in the air with the wheels engaged while another vehicle is stored underneath. By employing the adaptors on a two-post lift, fleet managers can make better use of shop space than what’s possible with a four-post lift.
Durability is another Model TP-20 asset.
“I’ve been here for five years and have never had to do any repairs or maintenance to the lift,” said Andrew Kohout, public works superintendent for Village of Scotia, N.Y. “The TP-20 was the first lift in the building and has provided us with great flexibility in lifting everything from police cars and pickup trucks to our large dump trucks.”
The TP-20 comes with a 25-year structural warranty and is certified by the Automotive Lift Institute.
