The average fleet professional salary this year is $84,694, according to respondents to Government Fleet’s survey. This is a 2.4% increase from last year’s average. This year, 79% of respondents said they had received a salary increase, which is more than those who reported increases last year — this number has been rising since GF first began collecting this data in 2012. Like last year, the majority of raises were for 3% or less.

Fleet size and number of technical employees managed are direct factors in fleet professional salaries.

About two-thirds of survey respondents said they have a succession plan in place or are working on one, and one-third of fleet professionals said they plan to retire in the next five years. Those who are closer to retirement are more likely to have a succession plan already in place.
