W.Va. Governor's Office Reduces Fleet
After an audit last year failed to get an accurate count of the state's fleet, West Virginia's new governor has vowed to examine state spending more closely. To start, Gov. Jim Justice is cutting five vehicles from his office.

After an audit last year failed to get an accurate count of the state's fleet, West Virginia's new governor has vowed to examine state spending more closely. To start, Gov. Jim Justice announced that he is cutting five vehicles from his office in hopes of setting an example for every department in the state government.
"We won't be able to climb out of this ditch until we really dive into the books to find cuts and cost-saving measures," Justice said in a statement. "State government owes it to every taxpayer to be as fiscally responsible as possible. My administration will work every angle to cut waste; this is only the beginning. We determined that the cars are not necessary for my staff. I am asking my entire cabinet to explore ways to trim waste, no matter how small."
The Governor's Office is eliminating a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and four 2014 Chevrolet Malibus.
