The announcement comes as the automaker prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary of serving law enforcement vehicle needs in 2025.
“Duty is at the heart of everything our valued law enforcement customers do, and that’s a standard Expedition SSV is built to meet,” Ford Police Brand Marketing Manager Lindsey Bertino said. “We’re very proud to add another all-new vehicle to our police lineup with incredible technology like the panoramic display that departments across the country are looking for.”

A standard 24-in. panoramic display replaces the traditional gauge cluster, placing vital information at eye level.
The Expedition SSV also includes Dark Car, which shuts off all interior lighting to help occupants remain discrete during stakeouts and Police Accessory Independent Timed-Release Output (PAITRO) that helps prevent unauthorized access to cargo.
The Expedition SSV powertrain is standard with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine which develops 400 hp and 480 lb.-ft. of torque backed by a 4x4 driveline with a new two- speed transfer case with Touch on Demand and 4-Auto.
The Expedition SSV has a 9,600-lb. maximum towing capacity with a load-leveling bar and includes:
Pro Trailer Hitch Assist

These features aid officers in hitching, backing, and situational awareness for marine or mounted units and other municipal uses.
The Expedition is the first Ford product to offer two new driver assistance features: Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking 2.2, and Intersection Assist 2.2.
Pre-Collision Assist with AEB 2.2 includes the capability to detect pending collision from oncoming traffic and applies the brakes to reduce the severity of an impact.
Intersection Assist 2.0 includes a similar feature to help detect a potential collision with an oncoming vehicle while the driver is attempting to turn left.
If Intersection Assist detects such a risk from a vehicle, bicycle, motorcycle, or pedestrian, the Expedition SSV will alert the driver and can apply the brakes if needed.
