The Propane Education & Research Council is encouraging propane autogas fleet operators to take advantage of the Alternative Fuel Tax Credit, which was recently passed by the U.S. Congress as part of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act 2020.
Propane may be a viable option for certain fleets looking for an alternative fuel source. While converting a vehicle to a propane system comes with a high initial cost, the system may come with reduced lifecycle costs over the course of that vehicle's life.
The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) launched an online map designed to showcase the growing number of fleets in a variety of markets that use propane autogas to fuel their trucks, vans, buses, and sedans.
The new vehicles will annually consume approximately 36.8 million gallons of clean propane autogas, and many will be displacing fuels with higher emissions like gasoline and diesel, according to the Propane Education & Research Council.
The GFX Block Party & Experience, taking place on the first day of the Government Fleet Expo (GFX) on June 4, will consist of ride and drives, hands-on training, experiential learning, and a technology showcase.
PERC will host an interactive activity with prize giveaways for attendees in its booth that will help participants visualize the emissions reductions offered by propane autogas vehicles at the NTEA Work Truck Show from March 6 to 9 in Indianapolis.
Fleet owners and managers will have ample opportunity to learn how propane autogas reduces a fleet’s emissions profile and its total cost-of-ownership with a demonstration during the Work Truck Show 2018.
The Propane Education & Research Council has added a new page to its website solely focused on helping public organizations learn how propane maintenance equipment can improve their grounds maintenance operations.
Sales of propane autogas-fueled vehicles increased 8% to 14,000 in 2016 compared to the year before, according to data from the Propane Education and Research Council.
