YORKTOWN, VA – York County, Va., selected a new fleet management system and a telematics platform. The County plans to use the system to manage 600 out of the 900 vehicles it oversees directly. The specific solutions the County is using include AssetWorks’ FleetFocus for fleet management and Networkfleet’s telematics solution for fleet tracking and related management and reporting.
The FleetFocus system will allow the County to capture labor, schedule shop activities and set employee schedules, and access other types of fleet data for reporting. The system also allows the County’s fleet department to share some fleet data with other departments through a front-end Web-based portal.
The Networkfleet telematics platform will give the County’s fleet department access to maps and the GPS locations of fleet vehicles, provides diagnostic trouble code information on vehicles, and allows department personnel to receive alerts based on various criteria set by system users.
Each system integrates with the other, for example diagnostic trouble codes in Networkfleet's system can generate service requests in Fleet Focus.
