Teletrac Navman has launched OEM Telematics, allowing government fleets to connect factory-installed telematics systems from vehicle manufacturers directly to its TN360 fleet management platform. The integration enables agencies to capture vehicle data without taking units out of service for aftermarket hardware installation, helping maintain fleet availability while improving oversight.
By adding a vehicle’s VIN into TN360, fleet managers can access critical telematics data, including:
Vehicle ID
Location for visibility and geo-fencing
Usage patterns
Speed
Fuel levels
Electric vehicle battery state of charge
This VIN-based connection streamlines data collection across diverse assets and eliminates downtime tied to hardware installation, supporting agencies focused on high-utilization and geographically dispersed operations.
OEM Telematics uses cloud-to-cloud integration with vehicle manufacturers to deliver timely, accurate data to government fleets, enhancing transparency and operational efficiency. With rising adoption of factory-fitted telematics in vehicles, government agencies can leverage this built-in technology to manage mixed fleets effectively within a single platform.
“Robust data platforms are essential for unlocking the full value of vehicle connectivity, providing secure and scalable insights for fleet operators,” said Andrew Rossington, chief product officer at Teletrac Navman.
TN360, Teletrac Navman’s flagship fleet management system, enables agencies to monitor fleet operations, track utilization, and support accountability initiatives. With the addition of OEM Telematics, government fleets can now manage vehicle connections with both factory-fitted and aftermarket hardware, consolidating standard and advanced telematics data in a single view to simplify reporting and planning.
