Connecticut Renews Fleet Telematics Agreement, Adds Automation Tools
Connecticut is expanding the use of automation within its fleet operations as part of a renewed telematics agreement. The new tools are designed to reduce manual reporting, streamline compliance tasks, and support management of the state's more than 3,600 vehicles.

The partnership adds automated tools to support fleet management and compliance activities.
Government Fleet
The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Fleet Operations has renewed its telematics agreement with Geotab and reseller partner Advantage One Technologies. The renewed contract extends the state's existing telematics deployment and adds a series of automated tools designed to support fleet management, compliance, and administrative reporting.
Connecticut DAS Fleet Operations manages a fleet of more than 3,600 vehicles used by more than 90 state agencies and departments.
The new automation tools are intended to reduce manual administrative tasks while supporting fleet oversight and regulatory compliance.
Among the new capabilities included in the agreement are:
- Personal and business mileage tracking: Automates the collection and separation of personal and business vehicle use records to support state tax reporting requirements.
- Overnight parking verification: Confirms that state vehicles are parked in authorized locations after hours and identifies alternative parking options when appropriate.
- Fuel and maintenance data integration: Automates the import of fuel transactions and fleet management information system (FMIS) data, reducing the need for manual reconciliation.
- Automated reporting: Generates vehicle utilization and safety reports formatted to meet Connecticut's collective bargaining agreement reporting requirements.
According to Connecticut DAS Fleet Operations, automating these processes is expected to reduce administrative workload and allow fleet personnel to spend more time on fleet operations and vehicle oversight.
