The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is hiring a general manager of fleet and transit operations to oversee operations of the BruinBus public transit program, complimentary paratransit services, light- and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance garages, and campus fueling stations.

UCLA Transportation facilitates mobility on- and off-campus for faculty, staff, students, and visitors with 18 transit buses, more than 1,000 other fleet vehicles, and two campus fueling stations. The general manager will be responsible for a $6.3M annual operating budget, as well as maintaining and executing a capital plan to replace transit rolling stock, modernizing vehicle fueling and maintenance infrastructure, and implementing necessary telematics equipment.

The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of industry state-of-the-practice in disciplines including, but not limited to, fleet management, vehicle maintenance, transit operations management, transit service planning, vehicle scheduling, customer relations management, supply chain processes, fuel management, and zero-emission vehicle technologies. UCLA is committed to reaching carbon neutrality by 2025 and the new general manager must bring skills and enthusiasm to help reach this goal.

Being on call round-the-clock is required.

The application deadline is May 1. The salary is between $73,000 and $143,000 annually. For more information or to apply, visit the UCLA Careers page.
