Trumbull County Votes to Add GPS to 32 Vehicles
WARREN, OH - The Trumbull County, Ohio Commissioner’s Office voted Jan. 26 to add GPS to 32 vehicles, according to representatives from the Commissioner’s Office. The county decided to add GPS because it wants to keep track of the whereabouts of employees using its vehicles during work hours.
WARREN, OH - The Trumbull County, Ohio Commissioner’s Office voted Jan. 26 to add GPS to 32 vehicles, according to representatives from the Commissioner’s Office. The county decided to add GPS because it wants to keep track of the whereabouts of employees using its vehicles during work hours.
The county made this decision after employees were let go in 2010 for running errands on county time and spending time at home, according to the Tribune Chronicle and local news station WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio. The Commissioner’s Office voted to accept a bid from Do-All Electronics Inc. of Hermitage, Pa. and will pay $249.95 for each system plus a $24 monthly cost per unit for the monitoring agreement.
