NORFOLK, VA – FASTER fleet management system has been selected as the system solution of choice by Weber County, Utah; the City of Gastonia, N.C.; and Knoxville Utilities Board, Tenn.

Occupying a stretch of the Wasatch Front, part of the eastern shores of Great Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains, Weber County Fleet Services operates a main garage with a satellite location 25 miles away in the Upper Valley. The satellite location mainly performs winter work on sanding and snow removal equipment, and paving equipment in summer months. The fleet’s biggest customer is the sheriff’s office. One of the main reasons in acquiring the FASTER system through an RFP process was to consolidate their billing processes, automate their workflow processes to reduce manual data entry between different in-house systems, while providing better customer service into one robust, comprehensive system that FASTER provides.

The City of Gastonia, N.C., Fleet Services has two divisions, Equipment and Transit. Fleet Services’ mission is not only to maintain and repair the City’s fleet and provide safe and affordable public transportation services in a safe environment, but also to provide these services in an effective and cost-efficient manner. The Equipment Services Division maintains a wide range of vehicles from police, fire, street and sanitation trucks, and city buses. The Gastonia Transit bus fleet covers more than 299,000 miles per year, providing service to over 282,000 passengers annually and they have the only compressed natural gas bus in the state of North Carolina.

With four corporate objectives of doing the basics better, customer focus, environmentally-responsible, and serving the community’s growth, Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) is a public utility with a mission. This mission is to be good stewards by safeguarding their community resources: customer dollars, existing utility assets, community growth, and the environment.  KUB provides electric, gas, water, and wastewater services to more than 400,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of its surrounding counties. KUB awarded its RFP contract to CCG Systems, Inc. to replace its existing system and streamline its processes to eliminate slow, labor intensive data duplication with high potential for errors.

FASTER’s comprehensive, easily accessible data enhances management staff’s ability to make proactive decisions to maximize availability, usage, and cost effectiveness of resources. For more information about the FASTER product and services, or to request a demo CD, contact Allan Richardson (West Coast) and/or M. Lynn Stuart (East Coast) at (800) 753-2783 or send an e-mail to ccg.marketing.web@ccgsystems.com.
