
The City of Tampa Fleet Maintenance Division celebrated its third year of achieving ASE Blue Seal recognition. Of the technical staff, 90% are ASE-certified.
The City of Tampa, Fla., Department of Public Works, Fleet Maintenance Division has earned Blue Seal of Excellence recognition as prescribed by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). To be eligible for this recognition, 75% of an organization’s automotive professionals must be ASE certified; the City’s fleet staff has exceeded this requirement, with 90% of fleet’s technical staff having obtained certification, according to the division’s Chief of Operations Connie White-Arnold.
Fleet Maintenance employs 29 technicians. Of these, 26 hold ASE certifications, and eight are Master-certified technicians. Fleet staff maintain an overall total of 178 ASE certifications. In addition, the department employs four Master emergency vehicle technicians (EVTs).
