Spartan ERV said its new MPA 65’ (multi-function pumper/aerial) firefighting apparatus is now available. This vehicle combines the functionality of a pumper, aerial, and a rescue unit. The company said that although it previewed the vehicle in April, the MPA 65’ has undergone more development based on input and feedback, in addition to more testing and certification.

Spartan ERV detailed key features of the apparatus, including non-proprietary chassis parts that allow for faster replacement of components; 10-year warranties for the plumbing, ladder, and body; a ladder roller system that eliminates the need to grease ladder sections, reducing the maintenance required; an A-Frame Stabilizer system, which means reduced componentry and maintenance because the system uses two cylinders rather than four; remote diagnostics, including dedicate software and a modem to communicate apparatus performance to an authorized technician; and a single-axle configuration.

Other features include a system that automatically stows the aerial; an elevated waterway that can carry up to 500 gallons of water and features a 1,250 gallons-per-minute pump in addition to the 1,000 gallon-per-minute telescopic aerial waterway; and an Advanced Protection System in the cab, which comes with eight airbags, seat belts, and outboard sensors. The company also offers a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty on the MPA 65’.

It also features an automatic leveling system that continually adjusts in order to improve firefighter safety, according to the company.

The vehicle’s base price is $350,000 and pricing for this model built on a custom chassis starts at $425,000, according to Spartan.
