SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT – Mayor Peter Corroon will adopt the recommendations of a citizen panel to fix the vehicle program, according to KSL News. A six-month moratorium will be put on vehicle purchases.
An in-house task force will be created to study the vehicle fleet implementation, according to Corroon. The task force will establish the need of vehicles, provide a plan for accountability, and examine the take-home policy.
Corroon will also purge cars from the county lot and would like to steer the county toward the use of hybrid cars. County officials also want to see county employees reimburse their departments for any mileage consumed for personal use.
